Got one today; would you eat?

  1. Never eaten a green sunfish before, but bluegill and pumpkin seed are very tasty. Personally that fish is really too small to be worth the effort of cleaning it.

    If you’re not afraid to fry it whole and eat around the bones, absolutely. Otherwise, it’s not worth separating the meat from the rest of the body.

    Green sunfish are delicious. I go out on my lake and catch catch them and redears for eating. I start keeping greens at 7 in. , and redears at closer to 10. I can feed my family of 6 with 15-25 fish.
