So I have this basic filter for my aquarium. I cleaned it once in the beginning but later got advised to not clean it because it stores beneficial bacteria for fish. Also I did not perform cycling before adding fishes. It's been one month since the cleaning and my aquarium seems stable now with no death for over 3 weeks and currently perform 25% water changes twice a week. But I am concerned with accumulated dust in the filter. Should I just keep it on until works or should I clean it in a certain way. I just don't want my fish to die because I think I have come to the point where the tank is cycled and stable for fish.
