Abandoned golf course pond, been abandoned for over 10 years, right behind my house. Tried using a topwater frog and a Texas rig for a couple hours with no luck, granted it’s my third time ever fishing and first time using anything but live bait. Went to a different lake after sunset which I had luck with using live bait previously, but couldn’t get anything with the frog or chatterbait after being out there for about 3-4 hours. Any advice for a newbie?

I’ve never in my life fished a pond. It’s crazy to think fish have just been chillin here for 10 years with no intervention. This might be a time to throw a couple of poles with worms or crickets and sit there to see if there is even a fish in there to bite. Hell. Throw a camera down there even. 🤷🏾♂️
