About a week and a half ago, both the plants, substrate, and my betta’s new tank arrived all at the same time. My sister helped me with setting up the tank, adding LED lights, HOB filter, heater, and letting it cycle. But recently I’ve noticed that the plants looked a little weird, and I’m certain they’re dying. Are they lacking nutrients?

What should I do about it? Should I get root tabs or liquid fertilisers?

What kind of light is there currently, is it just the blue LED? If so, they’re prob not bright enough

Stem plants are difficult plants to start with. Stem plants take liquid fertilizer through their leaves. This is why they are difficult plants to begin with. You need to get a decent macro/micro nutrient liquid fertilizer. You may also want to get an eye dropper or pipette for dosing.

It’s pretty common for aquarium plants to melt. The cause of melting can range from the stress of being shipped, to the water quality being different from where it was grown, to the plants adjusting to being submerged from being grown emersed. Your light looks a little dim so it might take a while for the plants to rebound. It looks like you have planted substrate so I wouldn’t add any ferts right now. It’s just a waiting game. Just trim off the brown and mushy leaves, and don’t remove the stems unless they turn mushy as well.
