I really wish pet stores would stop keeping them in dirty cups. It isn’t just gross but encourages people to not provide adequate housing.
I’ve compared it to yes a person can live in a empty broom closet but they sure won’t be happy in there.
Half the time the cups are full of brown water and the fish looks like it’s just lost all will to live. Then customers tap, prod, or even shake the cups in an attempt to “wake up” the fish.
