Picked up this 9g aquarium set at value village for $10. Came in original box with its original light and filter, plus what looks like a diy light set up from the previous owner. Everything was carefully bubble wrapped and there’s not a scratch on this thing. No leaks, everything works. I’ve never seen this brand before, they certainly don’t sell them anywhere near me locally. Anyone know if it’s good?

  1. Eheim should be a good a brand. I don’t know what the price point is for this type off aquarium but the bigger aquariums eheim sell are definitly premium with the corresponding price tag. Your tank also looks like it would have been exspensive for this size, being rimmless and it also looks like the cornors are rounded.

They also tend to make amazing filters with loads off replacement parts available.

  2. Will need a better filter for sure but the light is probabaly 10 bucks alone. And if you grow pit later now you have a quarantine tank so it’s a win. Never had a attraction to these kind of tanks ever since I got a fluval edge and hated the small hole they gave on top to reach. Gave it to a friend and they even asked how I did it. Even with a pole squeege I could never get the top rim without getting wet.. they ended up getting rid of it cause it was annoying. I got a chiller, 30 gal, and canister filter from goodwill and they are still fighting to this day so if I need something small I hit up goodwill or savers before paying msrp. Good find

Course filter sponge or bio balls in the filter but yeah very nice tank. Just built a 10 gallon this passed week and just doing that cost me around 18 dollars in glass alone to do.

It’s a good brand. It looks in good shape. Fill it up. If it doesn’t leak you’ve got yourself a really nice small tank.
