Got my betta on a huge discount and nursed him back to life only to spend $70 on food (so far he will only eat the Finsect brand, which of course is the only food that sinks immediately). I know this is mean, but I’m also going to buy some shrimp in his tank so he has more healthy eating options. But I have zero problems living off only stale coffee for days. Why am I like thisssss

Lmao tell me about it! When I built my tank 3 weeks ago I was like “I can get in and out for < 200$ no problem”
Over $500 and 3 weeks worth of ramen noodles later, here we are. Looking forward to a real meal this weekend now that I only need a few small things to finish it up (I will probably still spend too much)

Reminds me of when I got my tank all cycled and set up, probably around $350 spent, then went and picked out a betta from my local pet store and he was $4.99.
Also, I put about 12 neocaridina in my tank along with 1 amano. As far as I know the amano survived, and 1 female neo. The rest were killed but not eaten. You could try brine shrimp instead as I dont think the neos will provide any supplmentation unless they are tinyyy.
