Anyone else talk to their fish like they do their other pets? Marshmallow was harassing his mystery snail and I told him to stop. The spouse was like why are you talking to a fish? …. but I talk to all of my fish.

yes all the time and my mom and sister call me nuts but i don’t care😂 i call my girl a little asshole all the time because she chased my lampeyes
Yes 🥲 I tell our male he’s a very sweet and gentle boy and end it with “yes, yes you are! Yes you are!”, but gently almost like whispering. Bf said it sounds like I’m flirting with the fish. The fish just stands there and listens, doing occasional wiggles.
The girl is a baby girl, but also a little fatty and I talk to her louder. I also always ask her why she’s so hyper and if she could calm down a little. Especially during feedings.
Obviously all that while hovering mere centimetres from the water surface and their faces. Crazy stuff. Had to really control myself when mom came over for a visit. Didn’t want her thinking I completely lost my mind.
Everyday. Recently Mine tore her fin and it’s going to take about a month to heal back to the way it was. (The issue was already addressed and she’s healing up little by little everyday) So everyday I’ve been hyping her up and telling her how pretty she is. Needless to say I think bettas love the attention.
