Cutthroat photo from my home river in Oregon.

Preparing for a 15 day road trip for the end of August.

I’ll have the family- 2 adults, one year old, and a dog- to visit family and friends at the highlighted spots on the route spending an extra day or two with each (Bozemon, Colorado Springs, Cedar City), other spots will be overnight only.

Any advice on easily accessible fly water along the route? We aren’t locked in to this route, and could make alterations or small detours. Im especially looking for spots I could spend an hour on the water while the baby sleeps or plays. Any rivers I should look for or avoid?

My fly fishing experience is limited to Oregon, what should I expect in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah?

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice you all can give!

Anything on western Montana you have to be off the water by 2pm right now. Hootowl season.
