I got an avet mxl 5.8 Mc star drag recently and took it out casting this morning. On my last cast I slung it out and it only made it about 10 yards out before abruptly stopping and feeling like it wasn’t in free spool. When I looked at it was still engaged in free spool but for some reason was able to crank in line. I made another post on r/fishing but didn’t get to much help regarding what the deal with the who still able to reel line in free spool thing.
