I just got myself a Shimano Calcutta Conquest DC reel and opened the side plate. Noticed there are letters F which I assume if Fluoro, N is nylon, and SP. I’m curious as to what SP means? Can’t

  1. was also wondering and i chatgpt gave me explanation, apparently its the casting modes:

F: Flipping mode. This setting is designed for precise, short-distance casting and pitching, often used in flipping techniques where you need to place the bait accurately and control the fall of the lure.

SP: Spool mode. This setting is for general casting with standard brake settings, allowing for a balanced casting performance with a variety of lures. It’s a versatile setting for everyday use.

N: Normal mode. This setting usually refers to a standard, default brake setting that provides a moderate amount of braking force, suitable for general casting conditions and providing a balance between casting distance and control.
