I ordered a Shimano bait Runner 4000 OC on Amazon and it showed up like this. No packaging besides the outer box, no packaging inside or anything. Just a loose reel and instructions. Also, the box has a finger sized hole punched straight through it.
This is not what I would expect from Shimano or Amazon, especially for $150 reel. Should I keep it or return it? I would be most comfortable returning it and getting one with proper packaging just to be safe.
I assume they’re not supposed to come like this, lmk

I’m assuming the reel came from a 3rd party seller that had the cheapest listing on Amazon, I believe that’s how some product listing’s work, I could be wrong. If I were you, I’d just return it and purchase it from Shimano directly if available
It probably hasn’t been used, I could tell you that.
It’s slightly fishy, but most reels I have purchased just come in a box with nothing but the reel and instructions, although the box is the brand-name label box. Returns to Amazon are so easy that I would personally return it.
