hi everyone! i have been surfing this subreddit for a while trying to find answers that could help me, but I wanted to ask directly as I am growing more concerned about my betta. I have my own thoughts and explanations but I would love to hear from those that know more than me! I brought her home Sunday. she was very active, ate (i am worried i overfed her, not sure if this is the issue), explored, and seemed very happy. I noticed on Tuesday that there seems to be a chunk missing of her right pectoral fin, and her other fins look fine (is the plastic tree the issue? could it be the filter? i just bought a sponge covering for it). she is still eating thankfully, but spends most of her time at the top of the tank, around the water lettuce, her leaf as pictured, and towards the side of the tank. yesterday i did see her laying in her hiding spots on the bottom of the tank as well. i notice a bit of glass surfing, again towards the top of the tank. this morning she seemed very lethargic.
any help would be so appreciated, and do not hesitate to ask any questions!! i will answer the bot’s prompt in the comments 🙂
