Not a big river. Not a common catch by any means. Made it this big (17-18”), I let it go. I’d joke it swam away fine, but it seemed to stick to the bottom like a sucker.

  1. Im not %100 if this is true but I hear a ton that walleye love to be near the bottom when they feed.

  2. Like humans, fish can have scoliosis too. If it were going the other way (side to side) it would be referred to as lordosis. It could be a birth defect, but it’s more likely a result of injury or stress at a young age. Nutrition is also a possibility, but it seems otherwise healthy b

  3. In the aquarium trade I’ve had fish get tuberculosis and this happens to their spine. This is my guess.

  4. Hatchery stock has a higher survival rate when they’re messed up like this. Likely got just big enough at the hatchery to survive and then was released with a stocking and managed to grow to adult size.
