Sent it using the wacky rig this morning- have always personally* rigged up a Carolina rig and or a Texas rig here in Indiana for years w/ great success. Wanted to switch things up though as we get deeper into summer and decided to throw a wacky rig for the first time this morning. Had way more luck than I was expecting as I really just winged it before going out. I feel like I could be using a hook probably half the size and that would’ve helped big time but want to hear others opinions on how you guys rig yours and what you’ve found to get the best results using this method. Very interested to hear however because I had 2-3x more bites on that rig than I’ve even been having on my jigs later into the season. My problem was I was getting too excited due to the different feel you get from the different rigging method. I know I pulled the bait out of at least 2 this morning and then also had two I got all the way back to shore before they’d finally spit the hook out. Any opinions / suggestions are appreciated.
