I’ve had this little guy for 8 or 10 months now, never had any stripes. Yesterday he had stripes. Today they’re even more pronounced. Is this good? Bad? Indifferent?

He’s horny? In wild types verticals stripes mean they be trying to bone.

Is his base body color blue or black? It could be graphite disease, showing up that suddenly like that.

Does the discoloration stretch onto his fins? Is it turning everything gray? Striping like that is NOT normal so fast, and breeding bars are succinct lines not curvy or wavy like that. It’s possible to be color change, but I don’t think likely in such a short span. If he keeps losing color then it’s graphite disease.

Have you checked the water parameters to make sure nothing has gone out of whack and stressed your betta? Never seen stripes like these before
