Pool filter sand was the most economical way to go when setting up my 125 G, But I have a lot of bottom feeders who like to rummage in the sand and it always looked painfully sharp. So I finally spent an afternoon siphoning out most of the old sand, and replacing it with 40 lbs of CaribSea Moonlight sand. Couldn't resist adding some more plants while I was at it. It so soft and lovely and everyone is happily noodling around in the sand!
