Hello fishing people Hope everyoneās having a blessed day š£
Iāve been meaning to ask you somethingā¦
Every time you guys go out fishing you get a fish?? š
Iāve been throwing lures & worms
For a couple of months in this canal that opens up to a big lake, itās 5 mins from my home so itās my preferred place to go.
The thing isā¦ of all the time I have come here Iāve only gotten 1 capture and lots of bites and some lost luresā¦
Lately thereās a construction going on really close to the canal so I think that is scaring the fish away š¤·š¾ I went yesterday and no fish activity at all.
Is this normal??
Should I look for more places to go
with potentially more fish ??
I know patience is key but Iām just trying to make sure and correct what I might be doing wrong.
Thank you all!

Thereās levels to the game, and thatās what makes it fun. Consistency comes with experience, but Iāll still go out and get outfished by a 5 year old. Enjoy the ride! Learn from each trip!
Maybe if the construction has a lot of constant heavy vibration, like a jack hammer or compactor it would push fish away. A table saw or nail guns wonāt really deter them. Time of day, direct sun level, atmospheric pressure, water temperature and on and on are all reason why fish will move or feed or hunker down.
Yeah thatās pretty normal I think. I look for new spots all the time and have way more luck catching fish when I move after one spot isnāt working.
Also, certain lures might not be as productive as others. A small rooster tail or other inline spinner might work better than a worm, since little bluegill like that can nibble the worm off your hook.
Patience is definitely helpful, but actively looking for better methods/places to catch more fish is imo better.
