Hi everyone!
I want to start fishing, but don't know too much about picking the right setup. I was thinking about buying this Ugly stick gx2, 2.1 meters, fast action, medium power and pair it with that Shimano reel. I want to use it mainly for spinning for perch and other predatory fish, but i was wondering if i could use it for different style of fishing, like putting a bobber on it and try to catch bream or some carp maybe? I don't know. There is a fairly small river in my area, but it is deep enough for boats and barges to go through it and that would be my main fishing spot.
Bottom line is, is this a good combo for a begginer like me to learn different styles of fishing and experiment?
Thanks in advance

if you want a spinning setup, go with lews. i know it may sound like i’m picking favorites, but they just work. if i were you i would go up to a medium heavy 7ft. as you get more into fishing you will realize that the medium 6’6 combo, isn’t so versatile as you think. why i said lews is because there are some good quality combos by them, and there warranty program is up front. rod tip breaks 3 months in while trying to land a fish? email them. they will send a new one. reel starts screeching 2 months in? email them with a video and they will send a new one. that is just with my experience, but if you want it more versatile for carp and maybe as a combo for hard fighting smallies, go with the Medium Heavy
