Hi, fishing is normally a family activity. To me, it was a therapy for healing my heart.
My 3-minute short fishing film is a product of my going out in the nature alone and filming my activities while I was mourning the loss of my son who was 3 years old when he was taken away 5 years ago.
Here's my story. My son Bryan Sung was kidnapped to South Korea by his mother at age 3 (You can look up his name and you'll see articles and TV news clips).
The mother who is prosecuted by Washington state and the Federal government continues to argue that because of his medical condition she has to keep the child even though the US courts and Korean courts have ordered to return the child back home to America. Korean government didn't do anything to enforce their own court orders and it's now been 5 years.
I went out to the nature to cope with my pain and loss. My fly fishing acticies have always been my way of meeting Bryan. I left my son's name at the end of every film I made. Like a signature. Eventually this led to one of my films being nominated for the largest fly fishing magazine that published my bio and my story. In my bio I gave the background of myself on why I fish and what it means to me in the context of this whole child kidnapping situation.
If you could watch my 3-minute film "The Secret of the Remote river" and vote for it, that would be very helpful to spread my story and raise awareness.
Thank you.
