Locally owned bait and tackle shop is the best place to buy your fishing gear. The ones in my town are usually spot on the same price as academy or cheaper for rods and reels, and a buck or two cheaper for lures. Support small businesses!

Don’t start out on the internet. Go to your local shop. Physical shops always win on the service aspect.
