So I’ve been using the plain metal spinner lures pictured above with worms on this beautiful river all summer. They are jumping every time I go and they bite my shit all long. If I try to set the hook I just pull it away from them and have to cast again. The 2 that I have caught I just sat there as I felt the bites and eventually he bit the right spot. It’s SOOOO annoying compared to bigger fish who inhale your bait. I’ve moved down to a size 8 hook but haven’t had any more luck. Is there anything I can do to convert all these bites into catches? Should I switch to a Panther Martin? If so which one and what size? Should I try a new bait and ball it up around the hook, like bread or power bait? I’ve tried jigs but no luck. It seems like a lot of locals use a float and a fly on their spinning setups, maybe I’ll try that? ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance guys.🙏🏼
