Hey all! I just finished a new fly rod for myself to celebrate the impending conclusion of my PhD studies. The plan is to take this rod to the Sequoia National Forest to target, Kern River rainbows, CA Goldens, and Little Kern Goldens with this rod, so the theme of the rod is Golden Trout. The thread pattern is supposed to be golden trout like and the grip and reel seat are Sequoia wood, grip is also on it's way to Tim Johnson for golden trout art. I'm trying to figure out which reel would vest compliment the rod though, so I'm soliciting opinions! I'm open to just about anything that isn't click and pawl (I have an unreasonable loathing for them. No idea why).
