Hi there, please be kind I’m learning and want to do my best for them…

Got them from an uncaring home in a 5 gallon tall tank filled with Algae and grime. I put them into a 10 gallon wider tank and used 5 gallons of their old water to cycle the tank as per directions of my local aquarium store owner.

4 black skirt tetras and zebra fish and a snail.

After a day they all seem way happier and are swimming about or atleast schooling.

I know it’s a fish per gallon and I have some room, but do you think my zebra is ok with being the only one with the tetras? Should I get another friend? He swims off on his own alot but sometimes joins them.

I have a new heater on the way, 50 watt, have the light on an 8 hour timer… ect

What should I put in the tank?

Thinking of adding some suckers and shrimp.

Can’t add any other fish unless you rehome these guys or get a larger tank. Skirt tetras and zebra danios need 20 gallons ideally minimum.

The old water won’t cycle the tank, so some research on fish-in cycling. It’ll require frequent water changes.

And add a lot of plants, live preferably or silk ones. The light only needs to be on 6-7 hours max, especially if you don’t have live plants because more light means more algae growth.
