I have been trying to get an all purpose rod to go with a new SLX DC XT Baitcaster. I am limited to 2 Piece rods and have tried getting my hands on a good all around rod, which i hear is between 7'2" and 7'4" with Medium-Heavy power and Fast action.
I asked for advice on rods earlier this week and got some great advice but couldn't get my hands on any of the recommendations. People recommended Tatula XT, SLX, Rebellion and Zodias but I wasn't able to get any in the 2 piece version.
I finally managed to find a place with stock of the JDM Mega Bass Levante 2-piece rods but the JDM Levante line doesn't have a Medium-heavy in the 7'2"-7'4" range, nor do they even use the term Medium-heavy.
From what i hear, the F5-72V Diablo Spec R is a great all round rod but the 2 piece JDM line doesn't have an F5-72. The closest thing is a F6 with fast action. Is F6 too stiff? and is 7'0" too short to make for a good all purpose rod? Could really use some guidance before dropping the money.
