This is my fish Crimson, I forcefully took custody of him last week after my Grandma bought him from a dollar store (she wanted to keep in a jar and I couldn't accept that). Usually I feed him 8 pellets a day (4 in the morning and 4 in the evening) as that was the recommended amount. I went to feed him this morning and noticed at least 15 pellets just floating around, I tried to change some of the water and there were more pellets i noticed that were on the ground and stuck in the filter. No one is admitting that they fed him. What do I do?? I'm a new fish owner and I'm very worried about him (last two pictures are of the floor with pellets and of some being in the filter)

Get a gravel pump for the tank and clear out the food on the bottom. Get a water testing kit and make sure nitrate levels did not increase too high. Should be okay since you caught it and if you clear out the food Crimson will be fine.
