So the sand settled. But now im realizing that im getting a crayfish and he’ll be fucking around in the sand so it’ll just get cloudy again. I know I could use filter floss, but it’s there any other way I could remove the particles, maybe with some type of fabric? I’m looking for something I could find at home. I’m just making sure before I buy filter floss

  1. Personally, I’d just get a gravel siphon (you’re probably gonna need one anyway) and use that to suck up the extra particulates.

If you gonna go the filter floss route though I’d go to a craft store or big box store and pick up polyfil instead. It’s used to stuff pillows or plushies, the same exact stuff people use in filters but SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper( I’m talking $1 for polyfill and $5 for “filter floss”). Just make sure if you go the Pollyfill route to not get “flame retardant” polyfill, the flame retardant one is chemically treated and not aquarium safe, you want the 100% polyester one.
