Hi,

I’ve recently set up a 60L tank with only sand, 2 pieces of wood and a canister filter.

While i’m still waiting for the wood to fully sink i’m wondering if it’s better to cycle the tank with live plants already in it, if yes are there specific plants better or doesn’t it matter?

My idea was to add moss to the wood and a green carpet with some red plants in between.

Goal in the end is to add some small fish (thinking of a pleco and a couple of neons/guppy’s) so that tank is understocked and overfiltered to minimize the work on it.

  1. I added plants the first day I got my tank, and had them in throughout the entire fishless cycle
