Not the first time this tank has been used, but it’s the first time I’ve helped set it up and maintain it with my dad. Probably his 3rd or 4th tank. We liked the shrimp in the beginning but now the population has exploded. Thought some of the tetras would help keep them in check but nothing so far.

6 panda cories, 9 ember tetras, 7 blue emperor tetras, 7 silver tip tetras, 7 kuhli loaches, and we started with 13 shrimp. All live plants.

I’m currently cycling a tank to add shrimp. My goal is something similar to this. Is your substrate just sand? I’ve got sand in mine but was concerned it might not offer enough nutrients for plants to really grow well. Another question – how do you get plants to root to the piece of driftwood? This tank is beautiful, by the way!
