Hooked a fish first time fishing with a friend, and now I’m here hundred dollars in. I go fishing as often as I visit local fishing stores. Guess which state I’m located based of my lures, and any recommendations for my kit?

Yup, that’s how it goes.  Welcome to a lifetime of poverty brother!

Edit: you’re in MI or MN.

You eventually reach a no expense point.

I have a hobie pa14 I bought in 2019. In 2021 I put a motor guide xi3 on it. I am in total about 9k in my kayak.

I make my own rods, but now I have every rod I want and really only do touch ups and repairs on my current rods.

I bought 3 different sizes of penn battle series reels some 2 and some original series. 2 of each, one for each rod for each side of the kayak.

I have bought every lure and found the ones that work for what I fish. I now have multiple seasons worth of those lures.

I went out last weekend and caught 2 keeper lingcod and have spent no money on anything so far this year.

You will eventually reach a point where you don’t need anything else and in a season you spend no money.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
