First fish on a fly rod…only took 3 years.

Always have been an avid backcountry hiker, and also a lake fisherman. How to combine the two? Why not hike to alpine lakes and fly-fish?

Three years after starting, all the hassles and expenses of fiddling with gear, struggling with casting properly, and then finally getting everything to come together, was magic.

Perfect blue-bird day, perfect mayfly hatch, perfect spot above some sunken logs, perfectly clear glacial water, perfect fly to match, and finally getting my technique dialed in so I could present the bait perfectly, exactly where it need to go…and then it was so easy….
