When I got my little guy a few months ago, I did a check list of what I would need (filter, heater, lights, etc) and when I went to the shop and found a minimum 5 gallon “starter tank,” I thought it was amazing because it had everything I’d need. It was definitely a learning experience. The filter output was too harsh for him and I felt like the tank was actually too small, and I was hard on myself for buying the “minimum size” required. I wanted to try again but it felt overwhelming to take a tank that was already established for a few months and to do it over. But I pushed myself today and I’m sooo happy that I did. I know cost is a factor for everyone; but if you’re capable of doing it, and have been nervous to do so like me, please do it. It’s only been a few hours and he seems really happy exploring his new upgraded 10 gallon jungle.
