Hi. This is Tin Foil. I got him 3 days ago at Petco. I went in for a gold fish, saw this CHONK of a boy and said… I’m getting you out of that small cup and into 15 gallons!
He was really happy with his new space.
He is in an established planted tank with some hitchhiker snails. (He loves stalking them! lol)
He wasn’t interested in his pellet food, so I sucked up some mosquito larva from my fountain and oh boy!! He’s such a good hunter already haha.
I’m wondering if the current is too strong in the tank since I have bubbles and filter.. but he’s a BIG boi, and doesn’t seem to mind it.
My plans for the tank include adding in another big leafed plant, some smaller soft fuzzy plants and some red root floaters. I also would like to take out the brown pointy rock and replace it will a smoother rock. His cave also needs to be made bigger or replaced with something else.
Hopefully I’m doing everything right so far! Open to suggestions.

I love how grumpy he looks omg, he definitely is a chonker! Ive never heard of feeding them mosquito larva but that actually makes sense!
