Hey folks, I've been fishing with my dad for a few years but I'm always stuck using his secondary crappy rod. Last week he let me use his for a while and the feeling of a high-end rod blew me away. Budget isn't a massive issue for me as I plan on putting aside until next year, so I have close to a year to put aside.

We primarily fish wacky style senko, sometimes texas rigged, in lakes, Quebec Canada, so I plan on getting a medium-heavy, with a fast action.

I did a lot of research today and I really like the St-Croix LTB found here:

I was thinking of pairing it up with a stradic:

My only worry is that the Stradic only has a reel speed of 5.8:1 (which I've heard is real slow), unless I go with the 4000 size, but I fee like that would be overkill and weighty. Is the 5.8:1 speed Ok or should I aim for a different reel?

I was also looking at the Tatula mixed with a Fuego LT, but I think I prefer the first setup.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
