Greetings, fellow anglers!
I have recently taken up fishing and am thrilled to share that I have caught my very first fish. However, I am not well-versed in identifying fish species and am unsure of what type of fish I have caught. Despite this, I am extremely pleased with my catch. I would greatly appreciate your insights and thoughts on this matter.

A location might help in identifying species but that looks a pollock if it’s in Atlantic ocean
Not trying to scold you or anything but you shouldn’t put fish on the pavement like that if you aren’t going to keep them, which you can’t do if you can’t identify the species (assuming fishing is regulated where you are located).
