Smallmouth no contest. Largemouth give a good fight at times and I love catching them, but always peeter out where the smallmouth get 2nd and 3rd bursts of energy, sometimes it even seems endless, and the acrobatics on smallies is always entertaining

Smallmouth just for the sheer numbers. I can get into a lake and fish for hours, pulling them in every 2-3 casts. I’ve never had that with largemouth. I might catch 2-3 a day and that’s generally only on the morning and evening.

Smallmouth without question! Largemouth seem to give up once you get them within a foot or two from the shore. If smallmouth had hands, they would fight you once they made it to shore

Where I live there are only small mouth bass and rock bass(well they are not bass really) so I would say small mouth, but I also enjoy rock bass, they’re always very angry!
