Does your aquarium have a Tetra filtration system to clean it? Do you have an air pump with outtake valve & air-stones? Both devices will help provide the environment for cleaning the water, water-flow, and oxygenation. Oxygen! The river rocks in your aquarium are good, five in order to hold per air-stone down, though. Otherwise, it will float. Goldfish can live 5-15 years, given an environment that feels natural to them. Keep in mind, these are pets. They will get depressed, alone. Fish feel safer in swarms. If you only have one, it will be sad! Get it a friend-buddy, and you’ll notice how happy it becomes.

Oh, I almost forgot… when fish look like it’s trying to hide is because it is trying to. You don’t have to put a lot of fake vinyl grassy pieces in the aquarium. I’ve noticed that if you put a waterproof vinyl wallpaper on the back wall of your aquarium that looks like a coral view, the fish love it. Get one that you can cut out to the size of the back wall of your aquarium and pre-cut to size measurement. Use water and a spray bottle to sprinkle water on the back wall. Place the wallpaper on the back wall. Use a spatula to flatten it in place and get out air bubbles. You will notice that your fish will suddenly be much happier, plus, still have plenty of room to swim around in the aquarium. Pre-measure the size you’ll need. Where to get one? Type in search “aquarium wallpaper” on Temu or Walmart & you’ll find one for sure.
