these little critters have appeared in my tank, (next to my juvenile khuli loach) I have noticed they like to eat the algae wafers…..
they are not snails. they are quite fast moving, there are a lot of them & they seem to have tiny antanae.. like tiny underwater beetles.
what are they please?
do I need to be concerned?

Ostracod! There’s many varieties. They come in all sorts of colors and sizes. 100% friendly to all aquatic life, including plants.
Definitely seed shrimp or something similar these look bigger than mine get though.
