I acquired this 9 gallon aquarium with the 2 fish today, and the entire tank needing much TLC. Now that the tank is running and the fish seem to be doing good, I’m hoping I could fill some space. Looking for advice on if some type of friendly snail would be a good fit, and even a few shrimp if that wouldn’t be too much of a load?

Also hoping someone can ID the little guy, when I got the tank I was told there was just a goldfish. Thanks.

  1. It is a very bland looking galaxy rasbora I believe. But beware, people will comment later on that this tank is way too small and I believe is also not cycled (can anyone elaborate on this?)

  2. its a beautiful tank but way too small for a goldfish to live in permanently. with the proper space that guy is gonna get about 12-14 inches. you’re probably gonna get a lot of comments saying this.
the other fish is a galaxy rasbora i think, although a very chunky one at that lol

I was just informed this 9 gal is too small for this “carnival fish” (the original owner’s term) I was given. If getting a larger setup is not an option, what is recommended? See if a LFS will take it?

ETA: would the 15 gallon version of this tank work? Or a regular 20 gallon?
