So I'm tired of polluting the river with my lead weights. Also I'm not paying tungsten weights for multiple $/piece. So the best thing I've come up with is tying a rock as drop shot weight replacement. Right now I'm just making a couple clinch knots and wraps. Anybody have a better way of doing this? I can't be the first one to think of doing this here.

I use to do that when I was a kid.
Rocks being less dense means you will need heavier weight to get down there.
I would use a small piece of cheese cloth and tie around that instead of trying to tie to an irregularly shaped rock.
