Topwater season is here, and I am cleaning up with stuff like Rebel Pop-Rs and Heddon Torpedos.
When I do get a miss or a short strike, I have been trying to force myself to follow-up with a finesse presentation; like a Ned rigged craw or worm, or a shaky head worm.
I have been doing this pretty much since I started fishing seriously over the past two months and have not even had a bite on the finesse rigs.
Any suggestions would be fantastic. What do you follow-up with? What colors do you throw?
FYI: I fish 99% in spring fed rivers with extremely clear water for smallies.
