I went to pet smart and got a betta the other day. My brother also wanted a separate one so we asked a pet smart employee his opinion. He suggested a divider. This sounded PERFECT at first but I should have trusted my gut. Within a week my betta has lost so much of his color and stays under his plants all day and backs up when he sees the other betta. I just bought him another tank to give him his own space and definitely learned and don’t want anyone else to make my mistake! does anyone know if he’ll be able to go back to his beautiful colors?

  1. A divided tank is fine if it’s actually divided and doesn’t share water. Being not see through is also ideal. Was the tank cycled? Because it could be stressed/feeling unwell if not.

Colour loss is a stress response. PetSmart gave you both terrible advice for keeping a betta.
If you give him proper care he should bounce back and regain his colours.

U should buy some tall ass plants, real or fake to hide visibility or better yet buy some aquarium moss and aquarium superglue and put it on the divider and this will solve that problem while helping ur water quality. Could be pretty cool actually having a wall of moss
