Here’s a pro tip to beginners. I etched out my face and fish I was holding. I ride around and look for any water body. I don’t care where it’s at. Regardless of where you are, and you’re at a known or unknown location, look for visible and submerged cover. Yes, it’s a sewer run off, but I hit these spots for practice.

Notice the small “circled” protruding stick. If you were there, it’s actually large tree top that fell off into the runoff. So, it’s an instant fish habitat and cover. I was jigging and bobbing around to avoid snagging my hook. Pow! I caught a 4.75 pound LMB.

For obvious reasons, I threw it back. So, keep your eye out for cover, even if it’s submerged.
