It’s a Bates Hundo.
I’ve tied 12lb and 15lb seaguar, and recently 14lb Sunline Shooter which you can see still see some of it on the spool. On maximum brake setting, even the setting on the brake rotor, I get overrun every cast.
I thought it was the line until I transferred the line to my Zillion. It was clear as day that the brakes of the Hundo were at fault. The zillion had absolutely no issue casting the transferred fluorocarbon.
I hope some of you guys have this reel and can tell me if yours can or can’t cast fluoro. I’ll most likely email Bates about it either way.
