I know how crazy this sounds. I was hoping I could attempt this, making sure I don't put the reel down in the sand and washing it well afterwords. I don't currently have the money for a new setup.

I'm newer to fly fishing and have only caught a bunch of bass using poppers in freshwater using a White River Hobbs Creek 6wt. I've read some very conflicting advice on fly size and tippet strength for snook surf, some say 30lb tippet size 6 hook, others say 16lb size 1. Honestly it's my friend who's been rigging me up with the multiple leader gradient so I have a lot of learning to do to understand what weights I should get for this, and what length I should make them to cast in these possibly windy conditions. Intermediate, sinking, floating?

And for flies, I have some size 2 white clousers w/ red & green accents which I could try, but I've heard great things about changer flies. I'm looking at this white Chocklett's Mini Finesse Changer #2 and was wondering if you guys have any different recommendations.

And how essential is a line bucket? I've read I shouldn't wade deep to not spook the fish, and that snook are pretty shallow regardless.
