I’d open the side plate, pull the spool and oil around. If I knew the proper names for everything, I’d be much more help and look less stupid. A small amount of grease added to the worm gear (the thing with grooves in it that controls where the line lays) will also help with smoothness of reeling. Grease it, make a few dozen turns to make sure the gear gets back and forth a bit, then a hair more if it feels like it needs it. But that thing doesn’t look “new” unless you handle your reels about like I do mine lol. Good luck
