Discussing the species with another and they say muskie. I say longnose gar. What leads me to believe it's a gar is the length of the snout. It doesn't appear to be blunt like a muskie.

Both species have similar bodies, predorsal fin placement is almost identical. They're the same size, live in similar habitats.

    Alligator gar. Shorter, wider snout give it away. Also ive never seen a longnose get that big.

    I agree. Seems huge for a long nose gar. Not a musky. Do you have alligator gar in your area?

    Not musky if you did land fish you can tell by the holes under their jaws. Think the difference is 9 to 7. Also you need a little orange/red on tail and back dorsal

    No such thing ,as I know of….long nose muskie.and muskie rarely live in swampy rivers..just saying.
